Spring taking the long way...

Near 70˚F today... and a close call during my run, by a punk on a cell phone in the car...more on this topic soon...I ran past an elderly man on his walk and he said; “YOU almost became a hood ornament!”

Here's a fave photo from the not too distant past... KB, I miss you... Love, your Dad...

Make sure your silence does not equal consent...

Today is the fourth anniversary of this invasion and occupation of Iraq, (the crime family in the White House will tell you it's a WAR.)

I will never forget how much I despised the term, “Shock and Awe” and how much I'm disgusted by it even more now. Glorify the murder of innocents with words and dasterdly deeds...that's what they do.

Rose and I were among the hundreds peacefully objecting to the position of hate and intolerance...they (the DC braintrust) whitewash treason, murder and imperialism as democracy, liberation and freedom...

I actually witnessed some genius yell at me and the crowd that we are “traitors.”
I don't have to tell you about this crop of so-called “patriots”. (Funny how many of those guys with the vanity license plates own the road too...)
DSHAPS you are a real king of comedy, a reason I get up in the morning, to tell you to your face, how miserable your existence really is, how poisoned your mind is, and how clueless you truly are...

My Old Ampex

I fired up my old Ampex AG351 reel to reel deck yesterday... all I can say is, my
beauty will toast any two-track out there ! Sorry, but Pro Tools can't hold a candle to this masterpiece. I listened to a Todd Rundgren and Utopia BBC Rock Hour from London way back in 1975, hard to even put into words how magical a time it was back then... Sadly, it has all passed by...

Brad Delp 1952-2007

The minute I heard the news of his tragic death, I mumbled to myself, “Boston...Brad Delp, vocals, Tom Scholz, guitar, Barry Goudreau, guitar, Fran Sheehan, bass, and Sib Hashian, drums...”

Anyone growing up in 1976 that heard the debut Boston LP over the FM radio airwaves witnessed modern music history. The songs were so catchy, and you were left scratching your head in wonder over the soaring technical ability of Brad's vocals, and Tom Scholz's huge guitar... I'm really sad that the world lost another caring human, and if you subscribe to the vegetarian regimen, you know both Brad (and Mr Scholz) were unique in their being and in a brutal business called music... Dammit ! This is SO sad...

It's cliche´- I know, but Rest In Peace, Brad...

Stupid animal killers

(I've recently learned about Brit comedian Ricky Gervais... we need more of this...)

GERVAIS BLASTS FOXHUNTERS

RICKY GERVAIS

Animal-loving funnyman RICKY GERVAIS is disgusted by fox-hunting, claiming the blood sport is carried out by "inbreds". Hunting with dogs was banned in England and Wales in February 2005, but the activity is still carried out illegally by hunting groups who claim they have found loopholes in the law. EXTRAS star Gervais is disgusted the sport still goes on in his country, and is also incensed by bullfighting in Spain. He says, "I can't stand blood sports or any cruelty to animals. I've never understood why anybody would get off on seeing a bull speared. I wanted to batter those people with a f**king spade. "I don't understand why loads of inbreds get the f**king horn when they see a fox cowering in fear. And all this s**t claiming it's a cull because foxes are a pest - if so, shoot them, cleanly and humanely. "The hunters wouldn't get off on it if it was a robot fox, so I know I'm right on that. "(Bullfighting) is disgraceful, like any culture that exploits children or women. I just think, 'F**k that.'"

Winter...

One of the most gorgeous songs ever written...

From: Goats Head Soup - Virgin Records 72438 39498 2 3

And it sure been a cold, cold winter
And the wind ain't been blowin' from the south
It's sure been a cold, cold winter
And a lotta love is all burned out
It sure been a hard, hard winter
My feet been draggin' 'cross the ground
And I hope it's gonna be a long, hot summer
And a lotta love will be burnin' bright
And I wish I been out in California
When the lights on all the Christmas trees went out
But I been burnin' my bell, book and candle
And the restoration plays have all gone 'round
It sure been a cold, cold winter
My feet been draggin' 'cross the ground
And the fields has all been brown and fallow
And the springtime take a long way around
Yeah, and I wish I been out in Stone Canyon
When the lights on all the Christmas trees went out
But I been burnin' my bell, book and candle
And the restoration plays have all gone 'round
well, well, well...
Oh, Sometimes I think about you, baby, well, well
Sometimes I cry about you lord
yeah I wrap my coat around you, woman
yeah I wrap my coat around you, woman
Sometimes I wanna keep you warm
Sometimes I wanna wrap my coat around you
Sometimes I wanna but I can't afford you

Everest Day

-30˚F with wind chills ? (temperatures below 0-ZERO˚F) Today was what would be considered a holiday on Mount Everest... A few crazy birds were singing, ie the fiesty Cardinals, and it was SO quiet... Low winds, sunshine-perfect solitude, a great day out there... Kind of like nature's end-of-winter slumber party before everyone awakens...Yours on the summitt- Scott
