Ricks Of Fear?

“A general dissolution of the principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy... While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue, they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader... If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security:” - John Adams

This man is one of the conservative heroes, supposedly.
Where have their principles, virtues, manners, quest for truth and knowledge gone?
Under the ricks of fear, apparently. (submitted by RGV)

Watching The Boats With My Dad...

Talk about an absolute treasure!
I was at an awards ceremony recently, and heard a beautiful, haunting,(classical) nylon string guitar instrumental. The PA was magnificent, and the song was whispering as attendees left the ceremony...

I went up to the house engineer and asked what the song was? From his iPod, I saw COLMA-BUCKETHEAD-WATCHING...How on earth did I miss this stunning release, now approaching EIGHT years old?!

Run out and buy it...a great record, and for the record, one of the most beautiful compositions I have ever had the honor to hear!

Can you hear me now?

No matter what, never break any of your cardinal rules...
I did, and it could have tragic consequences...the consequences of losing some or all of your hearing are terrible. I attended a show about a week back, and removed my hearing protection for a short time. My left ear is still a bit fuzzy and hurting...I believe I may regain most of my hearing spectrum, however, odds are that my lapse in good judgment may result in a hearing loss for the rest of my life. I can hardly lecture anyone, but stupidity is the fault of no one but yourself.

NEVER listen to any DOPE that says the front of house person is a “pro”, “the best,” whatever! These hearing impaired cheerleaders and the sound person DO NOT have your best health well-being interests in mind! Before you know it, the band has reached the stage for an encore, and the distortion festival had begun after the first six songs!

There's a few things I know about physics and sound. IF you soundcheck to an empty hall, it's going to be different after you cram a few hundred bodies into that previously empty space. Guaranteed the FOH genius will push the volume and OVER COMPENSATE, because of a hearing impairment they suffer from. GODDAMMIT! I was a fool. I have worked so hard to maintain the best hearing I can, (I have always been prideful of my exceptional hearing skills) and as a professional, I've blown it... Don't you be THE FOOL, WEAR YOUR HEARING PROTECTION!

I will follow up in about a month, once I see my ENT doctor.
